Frequently Asked Questions

“What should I expect when attending a massage therapy appointment?”

-Please arrive at the scheduled time of your appointment and be sure that any required intake forms are completed prior to your appointment. Your RMT will come meet you at the reception waiting area and will take you to the treatment room.
1. -Initial Consultation: Your session will begin with a detailed health history intake. The RMT will ask about your health history, any areas of discomfort or tension, and your goals for the treatment. Feel free to ask any questions about the process or let your therapist know about any concerns.
2. -Treatment Plan: Based on the health history intake, the RMT will suggest a treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may involve suggestions such as specific techniques recommended and why, or specific areas to treat alongside the primary complaint area.
3. -Comfort & Communication: Your comfort is our priority. You’ll be asked to undress to your level of comfort (e.g., fully or partially, depending on the areas being treated). You’ll be covered with a sheet, and only the areas being worked on will be exposed. Feel free to communicate with your therapist throughout the session—whether it’s about pressure, temperature, or any discomfort you may feel.
4. -Relaxation & Relief: The therapist will use a variety of techniques throughout the session depending on your goals. Massage therapy is designed to relax muscles, alleviate pain, and promote overall well-being. You may feel a sense of relaxation, soreness, or mild discomfort during or after the treatment, which is normal.
5. -Aftercare & Recommendations: At the end of your session, the RMT may provide home-care advice, such as hydration, stretches, exercises or post-treatment tips to help you get the most out of your massage. Follow-up sessions may be recommended depending on your condition or goals.
